Perfectly Imperfect Watercolour Mandala By Lysa Jordan

To start off the new year, we invite you to experience a beautiful moment of meditation and relaxation. Recharge your mind and body by creating your own watercolour mandala – a project designed by DeSerres ambassador Lysa Jordan. Inhale, exhale and disconnect to reconnect. Happy creating!

MATERIALS:

  • Precision markers
  • Watercolour paintbrush (round)
  • Watercolour paper
  • Watercolour paint set
  • White acrylic pencil

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1:

Use a waterproof marker to create your mandala design. Drawing a mandala is not about perfection, but rather about allowing the present moment to fuel your creativity. This exercise is all about letting loose and using repeating lines, shapes and colours to create your pattern. You will then fill this design with watercolours. Feel free to use a bowl to draw out the base of your mandala.

Step 2:

Once you are satisfied with your design, you can start adding watercolours to it. You can be spontaneous and choose your colours as you go, or even choose them before you start – it’s totally up to you!

Step 3:

If you wish, use a precision marker once again to add more details and contrast to your mandala.
