This workshop will enable you to learn more about acrylic painting techniques while creating a Buddha. Program: demonstration and explanation of the type of material used and how to use it. You'll learn how to create a collage background, followed by a simple acrylic character. An accessible project to all will be created during the workshop. Step by step, artist Maud Besson will show you all her techniques!
Open to beginners and intermediates.
Ages 12 to 99.

Part 1: Demonstration and explanation of the equipment used during the workshop
Maud will show you what kind of paper you can use to make collage backgrounds on canvas, as well as the types of acrylic medium you can use to glue them with. The artist will also talk about acrylic paint and brushes.
Part 2: Project realization - Step 1
Collage the background using origami paper, then after drying, create the main subject. Maud will tell you all about the collage and the papers to be used.
Part 3: Project realization - Step 2
Maud will show you step-by-step how to make a Buddha, and give you all the information you need to draw a figure with the right lines and harmony. She'll show you how to complete the project step by step.
List of materials to bring:
✓ HB and/or B pencils, eraser
✓ 1 Canvas 8x8 inches (Cardboard or mounted) or a 7" diameter round canvas
✓ Gesso
✓ Medium gloss or gel medium gloss
✓ Brush kit of all sizes (square brushes, round brushes, fine brushes) hog bristles and synthetic bristles; including 1 square brush slightly wider 1 inch approx
✓ Acrylic kit of primary colors + one burnt umber brown
✓ Origami paper, or decorative paper or newsprint for the collage we'll make on the canvas background
✓ Satin, matte or gloss varnish
✓ 1 Glass water jar and cloth
✓ A palette with honeycombs for mixing colors
✓ Hair dryer
