Have you ever had trouble finding the right colour combination for your artwork? Or weren’t sure which colours to use to create a harmonious blend? For artists, colour harmony can, at first, be quite complex and difficult to master.
In this two-hour workshop, Julie will explore different types of colour combinations in painting and put all your doubts to rest. You will then put your newly acquired knowledge into practice by painting a waterfall landscape in warm and cold tones. A workshop that will inspire you to explore the richness of colour!
Open to intermediates.
Ages 15 to 99.
*This workshop is recorded (you will receive the video link 48 to 72 hours after the workshop)
Part 1: Color Blends
We will learn how to create warm and cool colour mixes using DeSerres Kolegial acrylic paints in warm and cool primary colours.
Part 2: Painting
We'll paint two versions of our landscape model, in cool and warm hues respectively. The emphasis will be on creating atmosphere and a blurred rendering without much detail, so as to focus on colour harmonies.
Part 3: Adjustments
Finally, we'll adjust contrasts, values and depths by superimposing and juxtaposing paint layers and touches.
