A colourful project for nature lovers! In this 2.5-hour workshop, you will discover the many creative possibilities of acrylic paint and learn more about colour mixing. Marie-Hélène will then guide you through the steps to create an abstract background and bright tropical foliage. This project will transport you to the jungle!

Part 1 : Exploring materials and colour mixing techniques
To begin, Marie-Hélène will present all the materials needed for the workshop. You will then learn useful tips for colour mixing, as well as how to achieve vibrant and luminous shades.
Part 2 :
Creating the background and exploring different application techniques
Here, you will begin the project by combining several different techniques to create an abstract background. You’ll be adding a variety of beautiful leaves!
Part 3 :
Painting the Foliage
To end the workshop, Marie-Hélène will show you how to paint the foliage in many vibrant shades of green—a final touch that will really make your piece pop.
List of materials to bring:
✓ A set of acrylic paints (ideally with the following colours: Phthalo Blue, Cadmium Lemon Yellow, Quinacridone Magenta, Naphthol Red, Payne Grey, Titanium White and Natural Sienna)
✓ A canvas or canvas board (approx. 10 x 10 in)
✓ A palette for mixing colours
✓ A flat brush (size 6 or 8)
✓ A round brush (approx. size 4 or 6)
✓ A light watercolour pencil (blue or yellow; we recommend STABILO pencils)
✓ A small diamond-shaped spatula
✓ Masking tape
✓ Print the template
