Kathryn will guide you through her painting demonstrations with helpful tips and techniques that will inspire your creative watercolour expressions.

Part 1 : Set up for success
In Part 1, Kathryn will introduce you to a variety of painting materials and tools to get started with watercolours.
Part 2 : Dare to create with watercolour
In Part 2, Kathryn will lead a step-by-step demonstration for introductory watercolour painting techniques. With helpful tips along the way, she’ll show you how to combine these techniques and dare you to create your own expressive watercolour painting.
List of materials to bring:
✓ Watercolour paint set (in tubes or pans)
✓ Watercolour paint palette (metal, ceramic or an upcycled plastic container)
✓ Watercolour paintbrushes (synthetic or natural bristles; short handle flat, oval and round brushes; sizes ranging from #2 to #8)
✓ Watercolour paper (size 9 x 12 in, cold pressed, 140 lb/300 g)
✓ Sketchbook or scrap paper
✓ Painter’s tape (1 in)
✓ Support board/masonite board (approximately 1-2 in larger than your paper size)
✓ Two containers for water (recycled glass or plastic jars)
✓ Paper towel
✓ Graphite pencil
✓ Eraser
✓ Pencil sharpener
✓ Sea silk sponge or upcycled kitchen sponge
✓ Hair dryer
