Dive into the world of mixed media art! In this complete three-part workshop, BC-based artist Kathryn Wadel will guide you through techniques and creative exercises using inks, charcoal, oil pastels, chalk pastels and collage. Join her and get creative every Sunday for three weeks: March 13th, 20th and 27th.

Part I: Charcoal and pastels (March 13th)
Part II: Shapes and lines with inks (March 20th)
Part III: Collage with drawing and painting (March 27th)

Part I: Charcoal and pastels & Part II: Shapes and lines with inks

Couldn’t make it to Part I and/or II of the workshop? No worries! Kathryn presents different techniques in each part, so you can complete Part III without having completed Part I and/or II.

Part III: Collage with drawing and painting

In Part III, Kathryn will guide you through mixed media techniques and creative exercises that combine drawing, painting and collage.

✓ Oil pastels
✓ Chalk pastels
✓ Acrylic inks (your favourite colours)
✓ Ink pens
✓ Mixed media paper
✓ Facial tissue
✓ Recycled plastic or glass jars (for paint water)
✓ Plastic, paper or reusable straw
✓ Synthetic paintbrushes (assortment)
✓ Palette or recycled plastic container with lid
✓ Masonite board/support board
✓ Painter’s tape
✓ Scissors
✓ Recycled magazine images
✓ Acrylic polymer medium (gloss, semi-gloss or matte)
✓ Palette knife
