Join BC-based artist Kathryn Wadel for an afternoon of oil painting for beginners. In this three-hour workshop, Kathryn will introduce you to the fundamentals of oil painting and colour mixing. She will also demonstrate a variety of oil painting techniques to create miniature painting studies. A great opportunity to explore one of the oldest painting techniques in the world!

Part 1 : Get to know your materials
To begin, Kathryn will provide an overview of painting materials and tools needed for the project. She will also provide tips on how to get started with oil painting.
Part 2 :
Colours, mediums and painting practice
In part two, Kathryn will guide you through colour mixing and painting techniques to create miniature works of art. You will learn how to work with paintbrushes, mediums and a palette knife to create a variety of effects.
Part 3 :
Eco-conscious clean-up procedures + Q & A
To end the workshop, Kathryn will demonstrate eco-conscious brush cleaning and maintenance methods to keep your tools in top shape. She will then host a Q & A to answer all your oil painting questions.
