Moon magic awaits as you immerse yourself in mixed media exploration! To begin, artist Maud Besson will present all the necessary materials and how to use them. You will then learn how to create a lunar phases illustration with a beautiful starry background using acrylics and watercolours. Step by step, Maud will show you all her techniques! A wonderful project for moon lovers who enjoy mixing various mediums in a single artwork.

Part 1: Getting to know your materials
To begin, Maud will go through all the necessary materials for the workshop: papers, pencils, watercolours and brushes.
Part 2: Creating a watercolour background
In part two, you will make a watercolour background in two steps: first using the wet-on-wet technique, and then, using watercolours on a dry base.
Part 3: Project time
To end the workshop, you will have the chance to discover or rediscover several watercolour and acrylic techniques. Maud will explain her techniques for completing the project, as well as provide easy and useful tips for creating beautiful starry skies. All you’ll need to do is follow the steps!
List of materials to bring:
✓ DeSerres HB or H graphite pencils
✓ Staedtler eraser
✓ Watercolour brushes (one medium and one fine)
✓ Watercolour paint set (10-12 colours minimum, in jars or tubes)
✓ Acrylic brushes (one medium and one fine; round and/or square brush)
✓ Acrylic paint (black and white)
✓ Acrylic paint marker (white) and/or white gel pen
✓ Sheet of watercolour paper (9 x 12 in or smaller, minimum 300 g thick)
✓ A well palette to mix your colours
✓ Masonite board (approximately 11 x 14 in)
✓ Low-tack green tape
✓ 2 jars of water
✓ Paper towels
✓ Hair dryer
✓ A compass (optional)
✓ Watercolour-type paper to test your colours before applying them
✓ A printed copy of the PDF with the templates we need to complete the projects during the workshop
