Prepare for the new year by learning a new skill! This workshop is open to all beginners – no fancy supplies required – all you need is a pen or pencil to follow along. You will explore calligraphy techniques, basic strokes and lowercase letters, and at the end of the workshop, Liz will demonstrate how you can create a well wishes card to send to your friends and family with the faux calligraphy you will have just learned.
Once you have learned faux calligraphy, the creative possibilities are endless. You can create your own personalized calligraphy cards, wedding/party signage, beautify your journals and notebooks, and so much more. There are a ton of fun applications that you can do with your new skill!
Open to beginners, no experience needed.
Ages 14 to 99.
Part 1: Basic strokes and techniques
To begin, you will learn all the basic strokes and techniques for faux calligraphy.
Part 2: Lowercase letters
Here, you will get comfortable with the faux calligraphy technique as Liz takes you through the lowercase alphabet.
Part 3: Create your own card
To end the workshop, you will apply what you learned in Part 1 and 2 and create a beautiful New Year’s card! You’ll learn the different applications of faux calligraphy through this demonstration.
