Portrait lovers, learn how to draw on-the-go! In this all-level watercolour workshop, artist Maud Besson will first present all the necessary materials and how to use them.
You will then explore drawing and watercolour techniques to create beautiful artwork in the great outdoors. And you can even start your own sketchbook—a really creative way to create on-the-go !
Open to beginners and intermediates (ages 13 to 99)

Part 1 : Getting to know your materials
To begin, Maud will show you all the materials needed for the workshop, including papers, pencils, as well as watercolours and brushes. She will share easy-to-carry materials that are perfect for an outdoor drawing and watercolour session.
Part 2 : Project time!
In part two, you will have the chance to discover or rediscover several drawing and watercolour techniques. Maud will explain her techniques for producing stunning on-the-go portrait, while presenting simple and practical tools. All of this through easy-to-follow steps!
List of materials to bring:
✓ DeSerres graphite pencil set (HB or H)
✓ Staedtler® eraser
✓ Natural bristle watercolour brushes (medium #12, detail #2, very fine brush)
✓ Watercolour paint (minimum 10-12 colours, in jars or tubes)
✓ Watercolour sketchbook (6 x 8 or 8 x 10 in) OR Watercolour pad (9 x 12 in, ideally 300 g)
✓ Various permanent markers of all sizes (black, fine point; Staedtler®, Micron®, Faber-Castell® or Molotow®)
✓ One4all® markers black and white
✓ White acrylic painting
✓ A well palette to mix your colours
✓ Masonite board (approximately 11 x 14 in) *If not using a sketchbook
✓ Low-tack masking tape *If not using a sketchbook
✓ 2 jars of water
✓ Paper towels
✓ Cloth
✓ Hair dryer
✓ Watercolour paper to test colours before applying them
✓ A printed copy of the PDF file with the templates needed to complete the projects during the workshop
