Part 1: Getting to know your materials
To begin, Maud will show you all the materials needed for the workshop, including papers, pencils, watercolours and brushes.
Part 2: Project time!
In Part 2, you will have the chance to discover or rediscover several useful drawing and watercolour techniques. Maud will share her techniques for creating urban landscapes, using not only watercolours, but also pencils and fine felt-tip pens. She will also share how to incorporate collage elements into your sketchbooks, while providing useful tips and tricks to get you started. All of this through easy-to-follow steps!
List of materials to bring:
✓ DeSerres graphite pencil set (HB or H)
✓ Staedtler eraser
✓ Watercolour brushes (1 medium #12, 1 fine #2, 1 very fine)
✓ Watercolour paint set (minimum 10-12 colours, in jars or tubes)
✓ Watercolour paper pad or watercolour travel sketchbook (9 x 12 in, ideally 300 g minimum)
✓ Coloured pencils
✓ Various black, fine, permanent markers of all sizes (Staedtler, Micron, Faber-Castell or Molotow)
✓ China Marker pencil (black and white)
✓ Acrylic markers (white, medium to fine; Molotow or Pébéo)
✓ A well palette to mix your colours
✓ Masonite board (approximately 11 x 14 in)
✓ Low-tack masking tape
✓ Two jars of water
✓ Paper towels
✓ Cloth
✓ Hair dryer
✓ Glue stick
✓ Watercolour paper to test colours before applying them
