A colourful project for bird and nature lovers! In this 2.5-hour workshop, you will learn how to create everything from a beautiful watercolour background to an expressive toucan and its branch. Beginner and intermediate-level creatives are welcome to try their hand at this fun project, as Marie-Hélène will guide you through every step of the process. This toucan will transport you to the tropical jungle!

Part 1 : Tracing and background
After reviewing all the necessary materials, you will be asked to transfer the provided template onto your watercolour paper. You will then learn how to create the background using wet-on-wet techniques.
Part 2 :
Creating the bird
In part two, Marie-Hélène will guide you through the steps to create a lovely toucan. You will explore different techniques that can also be used for other animal-themed projects.
Part 3 :
Creating the branch
Finally, you will learn how to create a branch with a realistic tree bark effect, on which the bird will be perched.

✓ 2 sheets of watercolour paper (9 x 12 in, cold-pressed, 140 lb)
✓ 1 watercolour set
✓ 3 round watercolour brushes in different sizes (one large for washes, one medium, and one small for details)

✓ 1 white gel pen (such as a Gelly Roll)
