Ahoy Mateys!

Looking for original and creative ideas to liven up your child’s birthday party? Have you thought about organizing a party around a theme? Your child adores pirate stories. What more can your child ask for than a treasure hunt!

Instructions:

To start, prepare the treasure map and hide the loot (pieces of chocolate, pirate ship-shaped Playmaïs, pirate figurines…). Dress up the children as pirates by following your own ideas or by being inspired by the DeSerres model. Then, it’s time for the arts and crafts activity and then off we go on the treasure hunt!

The treasure hunt:

Begin by drawing a treasure map with visual clues that children will be able to locate: a tree, a bird house, a jewellery box. Indicate the number of steps to take, left or right directions, etc. Then hide the treasure as well as the clues around the house or outside.

Craft ideas:

Make a Pirate Sword

The children can create a mural on a large piece of paper taped to the wall where they can make some construction paper shapes such as waves and pirate ships.
