Step 1: Prepare your favourite cupcake and icing flavours. Once the cupcakes are completely cooled and your icing is ready, crumble the cupcakes into a medium bowl. Mix in the icing so that the cupcake crumbs aren’t too dry or too wet, but sticky enough to form a solid ball.
Step 2: Place all cake pops on a baking tray lined with parchment or wax paper, and cool in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Step 3: Once the cake pops are almost frozen, begin melting the Wilton Candy Melts in a heat safe bowl. Candy Melts should have the consistency of molasses when they reach the right temperature. Carefully follow the instructions on the package. Take the cake pops out of the freezer.
Step 4. Dip the end of a Wilton Treat Stick into the melted candy and slowly insert it into the bottom of the cake pop. Dip the entire cake pop into the melted candy, gently tapping off any excess. Before the candy coating dries, place a candy necklace candy on top of the cake pop and then quickly decorate the Christmas tree ornament with the Wilton Sprinkles line of candy decorations.
Step 5: Insert cake pops into a rectangular floral green or white styrofoam block to let dry.
Step 6: Get creative with the design and presentation. Use various colours of Candy Melts, ribbons and other creative decorations to dress up your cake pops!
