Paint a Coffee Mug

- White cup
- Green painter’s masking tape
- Ceramic paint
- Paintbrush
- Cotton swab (as needed)
- Stencil (if desired)
Step 1: Clean the cup to ensure that the paint adheres to the surface.
Step 2: Choose the type of paint you want. Pébéo’s Ceramic paint does not require baking. Pébéo’s Porcelaine paint requires baking, making it more resistant. Keep in mind that dishware decorated with no bake paint must be washed by hand, while paint that requires baking is dishwasher safe.
Step 3: Choose the colours you want.
Step 4: Place the masking tape on the cup in order to create a diagonal triangular geometric pattern.
Step 5: Paint the surface, repeating with several coats until the paint is opaque.
Step 6: Remove the masking tape, gently pulling at a 90-degree angle to avoid removing any paint. If a bit of paint seeped under the tape, use a cotton swab to clean up the lines.
You can also decorate your cup using stencils that you dip in paint and then stamp on the cup. (You can even make your own potato stamps!) You can also draw tiny motifs on your cup using a fine point marker.
Make a cheese platter by applying a coat of chalk paint to a serving platter. Once the paint is dry, use a piece of chalk to write down the types of cheeses you’re serving.
