Paper Tulips
- Card stock (variety of colours and textures)
- Rigid cardboard
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- White glue
- Wooden stems
- Green acrylic paint
- Brush
- Duct tape
Step 1: Paint the wooden stems with green acrylic paint and let dry.
Step 2: Draw half a tulip on the rigid cardboard, making sure that the centre of the flower lines up with the right edge of the cardboard. Use scissors to cut out the shape and create a template.
Step 3: Fold a sheet of card stock in half and place the template on top of the sheet. Line up the right side of the template along the fold line. Use a pencil to trace the outline four times. Use scissors to cut out the petals.
Step 4: Use the glue stick to glue two petals together.
Step 5: Use a piece of duct tape to tape the stem to the back of the petals.
Step 6: Glue the two remaining petals together and attach them to the rest of the flower. Press down to make sure the petals are firmly in place.
Step 7: To make the leaves, fold a sheet of card stock in half and draw half a leaf. The base of the leaf must be wide and positioned along the fold line.
Step 8: Cut out the leaf shape and place it around the stem. Then, use the glue stick to glue both sides of the leaf together. Add some white glue under the leaf to keep it from sliding off the stem.
