Create A Gold Plated Effect On A Wooden Frame
- Pack of 12 golden leaves Pebeo Deco, gold
- Pack of 12 golden leaves Pebeo Deco, copper
- Pack of 12 golden leaves Pebeo Deco, silver
- Ceramcoat Acrylic Napththol Crimson
- Mixtion Gilding Paste Effet + Pebeo Deco
- Soft bristle flat paintbrush
- Wash brush 3/4” or soft bristle shaving brush
- Pine wooden frames, square shape
Step 1: Using a soft bristle paintbrush, apply the under-layer of coloured acrylic paint on the wood. Two coats may be necessary.
Step 2: When the paint is dry, apply a liberal coat of Mixtion gilding paste or any other adhesive for the gold leaf. Follow the instructions for your adhesive (may vary depending on the brand).
Step 3: When the adhesive is dry but still a little sticky, apply the gold leaf delicately. Use the separation sheet included with each gold leaf in order to avoid touching the gold leaf, as it oxidizes over time upon contact with the skin.
Step 4: Using a wash brush or a soft bristle shaving brush, lightly tap on the gold leaf to ensure a good adhesion to the wood.
Step 5: Using a paintbrush, brush the wood to remove excessive gilding. The products and colours are indicative only.
