Quilling: Basic Shapes

There are countless quilling techniques for folding and rolling paper strips. The easiest and most basic one is a circle; but with a few tricks, they can be turned into triangles, teardrops, and almonds. All of these little shapes can be used in your projects!

1. Roll a strip of paper around the quilling pen.

2. Place the paper in the circle template and let it unroll to the desired circumference.

3. Hold the paper spiral between your fingers and pinch the sides in order to give it a shape (triangle, square, etc.)

4. Glue the end of the strip down to make sure it stays the desired size.

You can stick these shapes together to create an image.

These little shapes are fun to use in all paper crafting projects!
