Part 1: Get to know your materials
To begin, Kathryn will provide an overview of the materials. She will then create composition sketches and demonstrate colour mixing recipes for the perfect landscape colour palette.
Part 2: Mountain landscape painting techniques
Kathryn will guide you through the steps to create majestic mountain landscape acrylic paintings on canvas.
List of materials to bring:
✓ Graphite pencil
✓ Acrylic paints (Cadmium Red or Bright Red, Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White)
✓ Palette
✓ Acrylic paintbrushes (synthetic filbert, flat and round)
✓ Palette knife
✓ Canvas paper or canvas (9 x 12 in)
✓ Masonite board/support board
✓ Painter’s tape
✓ Paper towel/cotton rag
✓ Two water containers (recycled glass jars)
✓ Easel (optional)
