Portrait in Acrylic (FR)

This workshop will enable you to learn more about acrylic painting techniques for creating portraits from a photograph. On the programme: demonstration and explanation of the type of tools used and how to use it. You'll learn how to create portraits and play with light and shadow to create a face with ease. A project accessible to all will also be created during the workshop. Step by step, artist Maud Besson will show you all her techniques!

Open to beginners and intermediates.
Ages 12 to 99.

Part 1: Creating the project - Step 1

Preparing a base using gesso and gel medium, then after its dries, drawing the portrait.
 

Part 2: Creating the project - Step 2

Maud will show you step-by-step how to create a face and give you the information you need to draw a portrait with the right, harmonious lines. She will show you how to complete the project step by step.

List of materials to bring:

✓ HB and/or B pencils, eraser
✓ China marker pencil, black
✓ 1 canvas 8x10 inches
✓ Gesso
✓ Gel medium gloss
✓ Kit of brushes in various sizes (square brushes, round brushes, fine brushes) pig bristles and synthetic bristles; including 1 square brush slightly wider 1 inch approx.
✓ White and black acrylics
✓ Satin, matt or gloss varnish
✓ 1 Glass water jug and cloth
✓ A palette with cells for mixing colours
✓ Hair dryer
