In this project-based class, the instructor will demonstrate professional abstract ink painting techniques and guide students through the application process to create a floral-inspired abstract painting on Yupo paper. The skills learned in our Introduction to Alcohol Ink on Yupo Paper class are an asset, but are not required.

Advanced Fluid Acrylic Painting Techniques: Abstract Series [2 hours]

In this project-oriented class, the instructor will introduce students to fluid acrylic paints, pouring medium and a combination of fluid painting techniques to create a series of abstract paintings on canvas. The skills learned in our Introduction to Acrylic Colour Theory and Intermediate Fluid Acrylic Painting classes are an asset, but are not required.

Intermediate Still-Life Oil Painting [5 hours]

Sunday, February 24th 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In this two-part intermediate oil painting class, students can further develop their skills using oil paints, mediums, colour mixing, and techniques to create a still-life painting on canvas. The instructor will demonstrate step-by-step techniques to create a composition from background to foreground. Students will develop their paintings by drawing from a still-life reference provided by the instructor. After an hour-long lunch break, the instructor will guide students through the steps required to define highlights and shadows and add the final details to their painting. The skills learned in our introductory oil painting classes are an asset, but are not required.

Intermediate Collage and Resin Coating on Wood

In this project-oriented class, students will create a personalized collage artwork on a wood panel using photographs and a polymer medium. Through a step-by-step process, the instructor will guide students through the techniques required to give their collages a high-gloss and archival finish using professional quality resin. Students are encouraged to bring printed photographs, magazines, and newspapers to use in their collage. Additional images will also be provided. The skills learned in our Introduction to Resin class are an asset, but not required.
