Make fun Halloween postcards with masking fluid

Masking fluid can take on any shape and peels off without leaving a trace—sort of like liquid magic! Do you want to make fun and scary Halloween decorations? Just follow these easy steps.

MATERIALS:

  • Water Colour
  • Masking Fluid
  • Watercolour Pad
  • Masking Fluid Applicator
  • Paintbrush

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1:

With a pencil, draw the outline of the subject: a scary pumpkin, a frightened cat, a ghost or a skeleton.

Step 2:

Fill the inside of the subject with masking fluid. Leave a gap for the eyes, mouth, or any other space where you want to see colour. To apply the masking fluid, we recommend using a specially designed brush, as the masking fluid could damage the bristles of your brushes.

Step 3:

Now that your subject is covered with masking fluid, paint using the watercolour of your choice. Let dry.

Step 4:

When the watercolour is dry, gently scrape off the masking fluid with your finger. It will reveal a beautiful Halloween illustration.
