Washi Tape Framing Project

An explosion of colour in an immaculate frame will brighten up even the darkest rooms. A quick, easy and unique decorating idea. Just choose your pattern and go for it!

Materials:
  • Ornate photo frame
  • Washi rice paper tape
  • Precision knife
  • Pencil
  • 2 different colours of cardstock
  • 1 sheet of white cardstock
  • Glue stick

Step 1: Cut the two sheets of coloured cardstock to fit your chosen size frame. Cut one of the sheets smaller to use for cutting the design.

Step 2: Draw a simple design on the smaller sheet of coloured cardstock. Draw the same design on the white cardstock.

Step 3: Use a precision knife to cut out the design of the coloured cardstock to create a stencil.

Step 4: Apply Washi tape to the sheet of white cardstock on which you have previously traced the stencil shape.

Step 5: Apply some glue to the underside of the stencil and glue it to the coloured tape.

Step 6: Insert the cardstock montage into the frame.
