The resin base of a typical pro acrylic paint is made from 100% petrol-derived ingredients sourced from fossil fuels and other non-renewable substances. For bio-based products, Liquitex halved this, replacing ingredients with ones from renewable, biological sources. These come from living or once-living organisms like corn, soy, sugarcane and algae which can be regrown or replenished relatively quickly through natural or farming processes.

The resin base of a typical pro acrylic paint is made from 100% petrol-derived ingredients sourced from fossil fuels and other non-renewable substances.
