A gallery frame is generally deeper and thicker than a regular frame. What Is a Floater Frame?
As the name suggests, a floater frame is designed to make the artwork appear as though it is floating within the frame rather than being pressed behind a sheet of glass. This creates an attractive three-dimensional sense of depth. Floater frames are especially well suited for stretched canvases.

Unlike traditional frames, floater frames are front-loading: the canvas is inserted from the front and secured from the back. This allows the entire edge of the artwork to remain visible, with no portion hidden by the frame.
