Gallery frame vs. regular frame

Gallery frames are generally deeper/thicker than regular frames. With the gallery frame, you can frame a gallery or regular profile canvas without the canvas sticking out the back. You also have the gallery photo frame with glass, which is deeper and will stand out more on your wall.

What is a floating frame?

As the name implies, a floating frame is designed in such a way that your artwork appears to float within the frame; it is not pressed behind a piece of glass. Because of this illusion, viewers gain a sense of 3D depth. Floating frames are particularly suitable for stretched canvases. Unlike traditional frames, floating frames feature a front-loading design; the canvas is dropped in from the front and secured in place from the rear. They allow you to see all the way to the edge of the artwork so none of it is obscured by the frame. If you’re looking for a gallery-style look, floating frames are your answer.

What is a mat?

A mat is a piece of cardboard (usually with an opening in the centre) that leaves a space between the photo and the frame. It is only suitable for paper artwork, not canvases. When a mat is used, there is usually a glass panel to protect the photo and the mat. Finally, when you see the words "acid-free or conservation", it means that the mat is archival quality and will not fade, yellow or alter the work over time.

• Gently wipe your frame with a soft dry cloth.
• To remove spots or smudges from acrylic or glass, we recommend applying glass cleaner to a clean, soft, dry cloth or paper towel and then to the surface so that the cleaner does not settle on the frame. Then buff the surface dry to remove any streaks.  

These rigid point strips can be bent back after being inserted into a frame, allowing you to easily change its contents.

For use with models F500-1 and F500-2 of Logan’s Dual Drive Elite. The Dual Drive Elite is a point driving tool that properly secures glass and artwork into frames.

The Logan F400-1 fitting tool makes it easy to attach the back panel of a frame. Just select one of the 4 most popular types of inserts using the rotating insert holder.

For best results, lock the frame between the body of the tool and the sliding head, then firmly squeeze the handle while keeping the body of the tool flat and straight on the framing material. The flat base of the tool makes it easy to adjust position and drive inserts into the frame. Once in place the inserts won't slide or bend and the backing will be stable.

Works on wood frames (oak, walnut or maple) with a maximum width of approximately 7.5 cm.
