Sculpting, Modeling & Casting

• Recommended mixing ratio: 1.5 parts powder to 1 part water
• Demoulding: recommended after 30 minutes

• Cold water slows the setting of the plaster, hot water or beating speeds it up.
• To speed up the drying process, place the object in a microwave oven for a few moments.
• Milk mixed with water will polish the object giving it a marbled appearance.
• Add an acrylic colour to the water to colour the plaster in the mass. Spreading it in the preparation will give marbled effects.

• Bake at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4 in (6 mm) thickness
• Do not microwave
• Baking should be completed by an adult
• Do not exceed the above temperature or recommended baking time

Important note:

Vallauris clay is non-toxic and washes off with water. No baking is required and it hardens in air. It can be worked easily and be painted in gouache or acrylic. This clay is suitable for both fine arts and preschool classes as it is easy to work with a spatula or a knife, dries quickly and does not need to be baked or fired. Keep the bag tightly closed.
