Tamiya presents an updated reissue of the ref. 14037 1/12 Yamaha RZV500R (last sold in 2011) with a new double-sided B5 size booklet containing full size color photos of the bike for reference and an updated instruction manual. The Yamaha RZV500R was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1983 with specifications that make it virtually equivalent to the YZR500 race bike. Inheriting the YZR’s lightweight and compact design, the RZV was equipped with a water-cooled 2-stroke 500cc V4 engine, capable of developing 64 hp and reaching a maximum speed of 230 km/h, giving it performance worthy of a 1000cc motorcycle. The RZV500R ushered in a new era for 2-stroke sport bikes and benefited from Yamaha’s considerable expertise in 2-stroke engines and racing. Scale 1/12. Length: 172 mm, width: 56 mm, height: 97 mm.
