Unlike other graphite pencils that create a sheen when heavily applied, Faber-Castell's ultra matte graphite pencils offer an ultra-matte graphite layer to reduce reflections on paper. They have the highest density of tonal values for maximum depth. With a smooth graphite layer, they are ideal for writing, drawing and sketching. They are particularly suitable for monochrome graphite work.

These eco-friendly pencils are made from certified sustainable forestry wood and are coated with an environmentally friendly water-based varnish. Pre-sharpened, they feature solid, break-resistant leads composed of finely ground graphite and clay, for smooth and consistent lines. The SV binder ensures their strength and longevity. The SV-Bonding process, which involves gluing the pencil along its entire length, resists breakage if dropped or during sharpening, resulting in greater longevity. The white eraser is PVC-free, and the single-hole metal sharpener contains a high-quality blade.
