Intro to Landscape Acrylic Painting: Lake Louise Part II (EN)
Travel to the tranquil scenery of Lake Louise, Alberta, through the relaxing art of acrylic painting! In this two-day workshop series, Kathryn Wadel will guide you through the step-by-step process to create a mountain landscape painting on canvas.

You will explore techniques such as underpainting, colour mixing, brushwork, etc. A beautiful project that is inspired by Kathryn’s time living in the Rocky Mountains!

To participate to the complete workshop, you must register for Part 1 & Part 2.

Open to intermediates.
Ages 13 to 99.

Part I: Sketching and underpainting (held on Sunday, May 22nd at 1:00 P.M (EST)



Part II: Landscape painting details

In Part 2, you will bring your landscape painting to life! Kathryn will guide you through colour mixing, brushwork and painting techniques to create stunning skies, mountains and water.

 

List of materials to bring:

Graphite pencil
Pencil sharpener
Scrap paper or sketchbook
Painter’s tape
Eraser
✓ Palette, palette paper or recycled plastic container with lid
Palette knife
Synthetic acrylic paintbrushes (flat, round, filbert and angle; sizes between 2-10)
Primed stretched canvas, canvas board or canvas pad (9 x 12 in)
✓ Masonite board/support surface (approximately 1-2 in larger than canvas size)
✓ Acrylic paint (including, but not limited to: Bright Red or Cadmium Red Hue, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow or Bright Yellow and Titanium White)
✓ Paper towel or upcycled cotton rag
✓ Upcycled plastic or glass jars (for paint water)
