What are dry pure pigments?

Pure dry pigments are suitable for artists who want to mix their own paint or pastel, rather than using premixed versions. They are essentially colours reduced to their purest form, without any medium or binder. This allows artists to be involved in their creative process from the start and to add colours to any type of medium, as well as mix original colours.

Specifications:

add in sparing amounts and mix thoroughly
mixing with polyurethane will create a rich colour but will not change the colour of the pigment; it can then be used to paint and will produce a translucent rich colour
pigments can be mixed with any paint to enrich or change colour (e.g. if you have red paint and wish to create purple, you could add a blue pigment)
pigments can be mixed with melted wax for impasto painting or candle-making wax

Demco safflower oil renders a consistency that is more fluid than paint. Recommended for light colours such as white where safflower oil reduces yellowing while diluting colour.

Demco safflower oil mixes well with oil colours to accentuate their fluidity and their luster without altering the nuance during drying. It dries quicker and can be mixed with linseed oil.

Uses:

Used in fabrication of extra fine oils.

Shake before use.

Keeps in the refrigerator.

A glue for papier-mâché and other artistic projects. Washable, non-toxic and colourless, it cleans up with soap and water.

Instructions:

Mix entire contents into 2.5 l of hot water.
Stir until the powder is totally dissolved.
Wait 30 minutes and stir thoroughly again before using.
To obtain a more fluid paste, add a little water at a time and stir.
Store unused paste in airtight plastic container.
