The paper you choose shapes the result as much as the medium you use.
DeSerres carries art paper for every technique: watercolour, sketching, mixed media, pastel, ink and more. Available in pads, loose sheets and rolls, in a range of weights and textures suited to every level of practice.
How do I choose the right paper for my technique?
Weight and texture are the two key factors. Watercolour paper should be at least 300 g/m2 to handle wet washes without warping; cold press has a slight texture that holds pigment well, while hot press is smoother and better for detailed work. Sketch paper is lighter and works well for pencil, charcoal and quick studies. Mixed media paper handles both wet and dry media. Pastel paper has a toothy surface that grips the pigment. Pair your paper with the right Pencils and Pastels, Markers or Drawing Accessories.
