From 0.6 mm, the line is thick enough to create a clear distinction between primary outlines and interior details within a drawing, which sits at the core of inking logic in illustration and manga: silhouettes and outer contours are drawn with a thicker tip than internal details, producing a hierarchical reading without changing the ink colour or intensity. At 1 mm and above, the marker also serves for small ink fills, shadow areas built through line, lettering titles, and marks that need to stay legible at a distance. The conical tip available in this range allows slight line weight variation depending on the angle of application, offering some expressiveness without switching to a brush tip.
