Gallery frame vs. regular frame
A gallery frame is generally deeper and thicker than a regular frame. This design allows you to frame a gallery-wrapped or regular canvas without the canvas extending beyond the back of the frame.

A gallery photo frame with glass is also deeper than a standard frame, creating a more pronounced dimensional effect on the wall and enhancing the displayed artwork.

What is a floating frame?
A floating frame is designed to create the illusion that the artwork is floating inside the frame rather than resting directly behind glass. This presentation creates a three-dimensional effect and helps highlight the artwork.

Floating frames are especially suited for stretched canvases. Unlike standard frames, they are loaded from the front: the canvas is placed into the frame and secured from the back. This installation method keeps the edges of the artwork visible without any part being covered by the frame.

What is a mat?
