These ready-made float frames are the best on the market for the price. I’m currently framing a show and have bought over 20 of these in black, wood grain, regular depth, and gallery. The recycled materials are lightweight, have a nice semi-matte finish, are easy to drill through, and surprisingly strong for the weight. They're manufactured extremely well, every corner is perfect with no raw edges, the sprayed black (I think it’s sprayed) is even overall, even inside the float frames, which is difficult and should make the frames more expensive, but the price is very reasonable. The price may be reflected in the fact that these are not recycled wood, they are plastic, but unless you tap the edge this isn't at all obvious.
I use standard size panels and have been able to frame most of my work using these. Unfortunately, there are no float frames on the market that allow for 2 inch deep (and more) panels, so some of my pieces will have to be professionally framed, but given how many sizes they come in and how good they look with 1" deep panels (gallery depth frame) I’ve saved a tremendous amount of money. I highly recommend these.
