This year, to celebrate Mother’s Day, we thought we’d share a beautiful project you can easily create at home. To get started, just pick out your favourite photo of you and your mother and follow the easy steps. A creative way of saying, “I love you!”
MATERIALS:
- Photo
- Graphite pencil
- Eraser
- Tracing paper
- Coloured pen
- Marker or mixed media paper
- Coloured markers
- Black fine-tip marker
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1:
Place the tracing paper on the photo and outline the components by simplifying the shapes as much as possible.
Step 2:
Turn the tracing paper over and generously apply pencil, making sure to cover with graphite each line drawn on the front.
Step 3:
Place the tracing paper over a sheet of marker or mixed media paper (slightly smaller than 6″ × 4″) and transfer the drawing by tracing it. A coloured pen allows you to see where the lines have already been traced.
Step 4:
Colour the shapes with coloured markers.
Step 5:
Outline the contours with the black fine-tip marker and erase the graphite pencil lines.
