- Various decorative papers with motifs
- Double-sided adhesive tape
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Precision craft knife
- A pencil
- A cutting mat
- Pieces of scrap paper
Step 1: To make a stencil, draw your motif (in this case, a heart) on a piece of scrap paper and cut it out with scissors.
Step 2: Place the stencil on your decorative paper, trace the shape with a pencil, and cut it out. Do this with two different but coordinating papers.
Step 3: Attach the two shapes back to back with double-sided tape.
Step 4: Measure the height and the width of the heart cut-outs and mark the fold lines. Fold the sides of the heart inwards, followed by the top and bottom.
Step 5: To keep the envelope closed, make a slit with the craft knife at the top of the heart that the point can slide into.
Step 6: Insert the point of the heart into the slit.
