MATERIALS:
- wood dowel (1/2 x 24 in)
- 3 x Barisienne Zenith wool from Bergère de France (12 mm)
- 3 x Artemio cotton strings (4 mm x 10 m)
- 1 x Artemio wooden bead (4.5 x 2.5 cm)
- 1 x wooden bead (12 x 9.8 mm)
- 1 x wooden bead (14 x 11 mm)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1 :
Drill 2 holes at 1 inch from each side of the wood dowel.
Step 2 :
Tie the cotton string to the wood dowel by threading a small wooden bead and making a double knot under it at each end of the string. This part will allow you to hang your wall decoration.
Step 3 :
Tie the cotton string over the wood dowel in a double knot. Leave enough string so that it hangs lightly to form a small arc.
Step 4 :
Attach long pieces of Barisienne Zenith wool (pieces about 60 in long) to the cotton string by folding it in half. Fill the entire cotton string by tightly tying the knots together.
Step 5 :
Form six long tassels with Zibeline Navy wool by wrapping a piece of thick cardboard with multiple loops of wool. Once the desired thickness is obtained, cut the piece that is connected to the ball of wool. Remove the pieces of cardboard by sliding them out. Secure the top of the resulting circle with a piece of wool long enough to attach the tassels to the wool-covered cotton string. Thread wooden beads on the tassel strings.
Step 6 :
Attach the 6 pompoms at equal intervals on the cotton string at different heights.
Step 7 :
Attach 5 long pieces of cotton string folded in half to the wood dowel (approximately 100 to 120 in long).
Step 8 :
Thread a large wooden bead on the 4 middle strands and form square knots with the 6 remaining strands (see tutorial for square knots here). Place a wooden bead at regular intervals when weaving square knots. Finish your weave by making a knot. Determine the pompom length for your weave, cut off the excess and comb the pompom you formed.
Step 9 :
Cut the long pieces of Bergère Zenith wool to the desired length and shape.
TIPS:
- If you don't want to drill your wood dowel, simply tie the fastening string to the dowel.
- Don’t hesitate to cut long pieces of cotton string to make the weave. Tying knots requires a good length of string to work with. You can quickly run out of string!
- Once finished, you can slide the cotton string over the wood dowel to amplify or reduce the arc in your wall art.
