Richard Cameron Morneau
Richard Cameron Morneau
Hello, my name is Richard Cameron Morneau. I am a multidisciplinary artist living in the beautiful town of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval, just north of Quebec City. I practise more than one art form: drawing, painting, sculpture, make-up, as well as performing arts. However, I’ve been drawing the longest. I learned these techniques by myself with the help of books and some explanations my grandfather gave me. I've been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil, and I've been creating my world for over 25 years now. What world am I talking about? Well, I create in a surreal fantasy world, combining hyperrealism, cartoonish effects and optical illusions.   I studied as many styles as possible: realism, landscape, perspective and the world of comics. This has trained my hand in the best possible way, allowing me to play with these different worlds and blend them into my whimsical creations. I also had the chance to explore different mediums during my studies in visual arts and presentation design, which today, allows me to create for well-known companies in Quebec. Why do I teach today? I love to share my know-how and techniques, to encourage the freedom to create. I’ve been teaching different art forms for 20 years now. This has equipped me with a versatile art background, with which I help people see techniques from another angle, through a simplified and efficient approach.Creativity is like a journey to the second star to the right, and straight on till morning. Welcome to my imaginary world.I look forward to seeing you at the next workshops!
