Part 1: Material overview and initial sketch
To begin, Gabrielle will go over the necessary materials. Using a reference photo, you will then create your initial sketch with watercolour crayons or pencils.Part 2: Painting the flower
In Part 2, you will bring your abstract flower to life. Step by step, Gabrielle will guide you through the entire painting process!
List of materials to bring:
✓ Yupo watercolour paper (minimum 8 x 10 in) *plus a scrap sheet for testing colours
✓ Watercolour palette (takeout tray or lid will also work)
✓ Watercolour paint (student and/or professional grade: Ultramarine Blue, Opera Pink, Hooker’s Green, Lemon Yellow)
✓ Watercolour crayons OR Watercolour pencils
✓ Watercolour brushes: oval or mop brush, #6 round
✓ Paper towel OR cloth
✓ Water for paint (in jar or container)
✓ Reference photo
