Celebrate winter and create a landscape acrylic painting with BC-based artist Kathryn Wadel. In this three-hour workshop, Kathryn will guide you through the step-by-step process to paint a winter wonderland on canvas. The perfect project for snow lovers!

Part 1: Materials and techniques
To begin, Kathryn will provide an overview of the necessary painting tools. She will also explain basic techniques like colour mixing, sketching and underpainting.Part 2: Landscape painting steps
In part two, Kathryn will guide participants through the steps to create a winter-inspired landscape painting.Part 3: Eco-conscious cleanup + Q & A
To end the workshop, Kathryn will share helpful tips for developing a more eco-conscious painting practice through responsible brush cleaning and maintenance methods. She will then answer all your acrylic painting questions in a Q & A.
List of materials to bring:
✓ Canvas pad/paper (9 x 12 in)
✓ Acrylic paints (Naphthol Red or Cadmium Red Hue, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Light or Bright Yellow and Titanium White)
✓ Acrylic paintbrushes (flat, round and filbert synthetic bristles, between 2-8)
✓ Paper towel or painting rag
✓ Masonite board/support board (minimum 10 x 13 in)
✓ Painter’s tape
✓ Two recycled glass/plastic jars
✓ Palette or palette paper
✓ Palette knife
