Oil marker - 4artist - 4mm - light green

Regular price $6.99
Sale price $6.99 Regular price
In stock Low stock Unavailable
The 4Artist by Pébéo is an oil-based marker with a round tip. It produces an opaque, glossy and very lightfast finish. It allows precise drawing on most surfaces: canvas, paper, cardboard, wood, metal, plastic, glass, ceramic, porcelain, plaster, mineral materials, etc.

Ideal for mixed media techniques, the 4Artist Marker can be used with fine arts and graphic arts paints (oil, acrylic, ink, etc.), or Pébéo's specialised paints such as Ceramic, Vitrail, Gédéo resins and Prism and Moon effect paints. We recommend applying a coat of Bindex or 4Artist varnish to the paint before applying the marker.

To achieve splatter or drip effects, the wick should be "over-soaked" with paint and then shaken. These effects are best achieved with the 8 mm and 15 mm wicks. After using the marker for these effects, wipe the wick holder clean and regulate the paint flow.

An excellent creative tool for professionals, artisans, students and beginner or advanced hobbyists!

Note:
  • Results will be less glossy on porous surfaces. To avoid loss of shine on these surfaces, we recommend applying a coat of Bindex or water-based varnish.
  • The 4Artist Marker must be primed before first use. To do this, shake the marker firmly with the cap on. Then, on a sheet of paper, press the tip several times to soak the paper with paint.

PITT Artist Pens are famous for combining a modern brush nib design with a tradition of India ink. India ink offers artists odourless, permanent, waterproof, lightfast inks with a large variety of vibrant colours. The durable nib gives the freedom to create versatile ink brush strokes of broad, medium to narrow with an even application of colour.

In many countries, ink drawings have a very long history among artists. Their expressive power, covering properties, resistance to ageing as well as the possibility of combining them with many other painting techniques have always made this medium interesting for artists and graphic designers. Faber-Castell has brought together all of the advantages of drawing in Indian ink in a modern and uncomplicated disposable pen - the PITT artist pen. The high-quality brush point works both straight and bent without breaking. While the light colours are transparent and, thus, well-suited to varnishing techniques, the dark colours have good covering qualities. PITT artist pens have unsurpassed light-fastness and the individual colours are marked with an asterisk-based code.

  • Acid free
  • Waterproof when dry
  • Odourless
  • Won't bleed through paper
  • Remove the nib and turn it over to reveal a fresh point

Applications

On wet paper, PITT Artist Pens behave like India ink flowing in the paper and can still be reworked with a brush. Once dry, however, they are permanent and cannot be dissolved.

It is possible to paint or colour drawings using watercolours, once the ink is sufficiently dry. This will not affect the super bright colours and deep black ink.

It goes without saying that the PITT artist pens are well suited to all conventional techniques using traditional markers. Their significantly higher lightfastness gives them a higher advantage.

Oil marker - 4artist - 4mm - orange

Oil, Brush & Specialty Markers: Beyond the Basics

Some techniques call for something beyond the standard marker. Oil markers deliver rich, opaque colour on a wide range of surfaces with exceptional lightfastness. Pitt artist pens combine the precision of a pen with the expressiveness of a brush, favoured by illustrators and fine artists alike. Brush markers offer fluid, pressure-sensitive lines that adapt naturally to your gesture. DeSerres brings together these specialty markers for artists looking to expand their practice.

When to reach for a Specialty Marker?

Oil markers are the right choice when permanence and opacity matter most, particularly on non-paper surfaces like metal, glass or stone. Pitt markers are a staple for ink drawing, manga and detailed illustration, offering consistent, archival-quality lines. Brush markers bridge the gap between marker and paintbrush, giving you expressive, variable line weight with the convenience of a capped pen. Each type serves a distinct purpose and opens up different creative possibilities. Explore our full Markers & Pens collection for more options.
