Watercolour is one of the most rewarding mediums to learn, and one of the most portable.
DeSerres carries everything you need to get started: watercolour paints in pans and tubes, quality brushes that hold water well, cold and hot press paper, and the accessories that make the process easier. From first washes to finished paintings.
What do I need to start watercolour painting?
Three things matter most: paint, paper and brushes. For paint, a basic set of 12 colours in student grade is enough to start; professional grades offer better pigment concentration and lightfastness. For paper, always use watercolour-specific paper of at least 300 g/m2 to prevent warping. For brushes, a round brush in sizes 4, 8 and 12 covers most needs. Add a palette for mixing, masking fluid for reserving whites, and you're ready to paint. Explore our Paint collection, Paintbrushes and Paper to build your watercolour kit.
