AMELIA HADOUCHI

"I strive to always transcend convention, to go beyond the canvas."

"Art is woven into everything I do and am. I can’t stop thinking about creating. I even dream about it! Art is so much more than a hobby for me; it's a profound therapeutic force that heals the soul. It has a huge impact on my life balance and overall wellness."

Uninhibited Self-Expression Amelia’s first paintings were portraits and landscapes.

As she developed her artistic voice, she discovered that she preferred abstract art to realism, seeing it as a playground where she can create freely, unhindered by rules or constraints.

"With abstract art, I felt there was much less room for criticism and judgment, which allowed me to express myself fully and to let my creative essence evolve freely. My philosophy and my whole approach as an artist remain anchored in this idea of 'no rules'. I strive to always transcend convention, to go beyond the canvas.”

A Window onto the World's Wonders.

Amelia describes her paintings as portals to the earth’s most breathtaking natural phenomena. Through this rich visual journey, she hopes to evoke deep emotion in those who view her art. Each piece is a living exploration of the natural world and her way of paying tribute to our planet. Whether Amelia invites us to float in the vast expanse of the cosmos or to dive into the blues of our restless oceans, the textures and vivid colours of her artwork give rise to an immersive and introspective experience.

"My creations are meant to transport you to a perspective of a satellite hovering above the Earth. The swirling patterns mimic the intricate tapestry of our planet's surface with its meandering rivers, lush forests, and vast deserts. It's as though you're watching from space, witnessing the ever-changing beauty of our home."

From Compass to Canvas Travel fuels Amelia’s creative vision.

She brings back trinkets and memories from her travels as a source of inspiration for her art. From erupting volcanoes in Guatemala to waterfalls in the jungles of Costa Rica, whatever moves Amelia is later infused in her art.

Mindfulness Nourishes Creativity.

Amelia's creative process is centered on being fully present and mindful. "It’s like nothing else exists outside of what I’m creating. I connect deeply to the colours, textures and images that are flowing through my mind. It's like time stands still, and I’m in a trance."

Calm catalyzes her creativity. She paints early in the morning or late at night, often to her favourite playlists by Mose, Rufus Du Sol and Zakes Bantwini, or to musical scores by Hans Zimmer, Ludwig Goransson and Ludovico Einaudi.

The Importance of the Right Tools.

While calm and emotion are essential to her creative process, reliable tools enable Amelia to bring her vision to life. To her, artist's tools are much more than mere instruments - they are loyal collaborators!

"Whether it's creating textures with a palette knife or softening certain areas of my painting with my favourite brush, these tools play a vital role in my creative process, each with its own well-defined mission at different stages."

Her go-to medium is acrylic paint, which she considers ideal for the fluid effects she seeks to create in her art. The textures in her paintings are created with painting knives. She also uses a range of different types of short-handled paintbrushes to create her shapes.

A Turning Point in Her Career.

Although she was a burgeoning artist from a very young age, Amelia studied international business, languages and interior design. After sharing her creations on social media, she was discovered by a gallery in Miami which invited her to exhibit her work at the 2015 Art Basel festival. That marked a turning point in her career and empowered her to become a professional painter.

"I feel so privileged that this natural form of self-expression has opened doors to some incredible projects, like being commissioned to create a custom wine label or to design murals during my artistic residency in Portugal. Each of these projects is a unique adventure that allows me to explore new realms, to give free rein to my creativity, and to share the very essence of my art with people around me."

Art as Therapy

Amelia's mission to evoke emotion and do good through art remains the driving force behind each of her pieces.

"The messages I get every day make me realize the profound impact these works have on the well-being of those who experience them. It serves as my daily reminder to stay fiercely committed to my mission to share the therapeutic magic of art with the world.”
