Discover how to colour a fun, cartoon-style character using alcohol markers! Whatever your skill level, this workshop will teach you drawing techniques used by real illustrators.

Step by step, Richard simplifies the art of drawing to create and colour not only a character, but also a 3D illusion. You will explore how to play with light and shadow effects to make your character truly pop, while learning how to use alcohol markers. A workshop for all levels that allows you to have fun, while learning pro techniques!

Open to: beginners and intermediates.
Ages 9 and up.

Part 1: Introduction

To begin, Richard will introduce himself and present all the necessary materials, as well as the basics of light and shadow effects on different volumes. He will then guide you through various simple exercises that will give you a solid foundation for creating and colouring your character. You will explore topics such as the use of alcohol markers, as well as the use of gradients with alcohol markers to create light and shadow effects.


Part 2: Colouring your character

In Part 2, you will start creating your character: composition, colouring, light and shadow effects, volumes, 3D effects. You will be guided step by step!


Part 3: Inking and finishing touches

To end the workshop, you will learn how to finalise your drawing, namely by applying contour lines with black ink.

✓ Tombow® calligraphy pencil (black, flexible tip)
