Part 1: Introduction
To begin, Richard will introduce himself and present all the necessary materials, as well as the basics of light and shadow effects on different volumes.
He will then guide you through various simple exercises that will give you a solid foundation for creating and colouring your character. You will explore topics such as the use of watercolour, as well as the use of gradients with this water-based medium to create light and shadow effects.
Part 2: Colouring your character
In Part 2, you will start creating your character: composition, colouring, light and shadow effects, volumes, 3D effects. You will be guided step by step!
Part 3: Inking and finishing touches
To end the workshop, you will learn how to finalise your drawing, namely by applying contour lines with black ink, or watercolour using a brush.
