Colouring a Playful Character: Part II (FR)
Discover how to easily draw and colour a fun cartoon-style character! Whatever your skill level, this workshop will teach you creation and drawing techniques used by real illustrators. Step by step, Richard simplifies the art of drawing to create not only a character, but also a 3D illusion.

You will then learn how to add colour to your character using water-based markers. A workshop for all levels that allows you to have fun, while learning pro techniques!

Open to beginners and intermediates.
Ages 12 to 99.

Part 1: How to create a character


We recommend participating at Part I of this course. Part I will take place on April 5th. Sign up here.


Part 2: Colouring your character

To end the workshop, you will prepare your subject on watercolour paper and explore the technique using a pencil and wet brush. Next, you will explore how to apply light and shadow effects in colour, while learning how to use water-based markers to give a watercolour effect.

 

List of materials to bring:

✓ Plain paper or sketchbook
✓ Eraser (optional)
✓ 1 HB graphite pencil (Staedtler)
✓ Water-based markers (Tratto or Tuxedo)
✓ 300 g watercolour paper (Fabriano)
✓ Round brush
✓ Water bowl
