Monster Garden

This colourful project is a great rainy-day activity that will keep the kids occupied for hours. Build an indoor rock garden of monsters in all shapes and sizes! Whether you have a green thumb or not — with a little paint and some imagination, you can grow almost anything.

How to Make a Monstrous Rock Garden

Step 1: Wash and dry your rocks to make sure all the dirt is removed before painting. Paint a solid coat of acrylic paint onto the rocks. You may need to apply several coats to achieve even coverage.

Step 2: With a smaller paintbrush, add monstrous smiles and other details to the rocks with white paint. Affix googly eyes to the rock with a small dab of white glue.

Step 3: Once the paint is dry, fill a pot with dirt and arrange your monsters in it or hide them in the yard to surprise unsuspecting gardeners.

You will need:

  • Acylic paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • White glue
  • Rocks of various sizes
  • Googly eyes

Optional: Planter pot and dirt, glue gun

Adult supervision is required.
